tire and rim questions

hello,
I need some info on possible rim and tire sizes for my '87 900 16v Turbo. what are the specs for it (bolt circle, offset, dia, width, etc)? how wide a set has anyone successfully run on their tires? how did it perform?
i found the following info on the SaabNet (TSN)'s FAQs, but is this a realistic expectation of what will work on my car (width wise, etc)?
>>>excerpt>>>
I believe the 900's alloy wheels are 15 x 5.5, probably the widest you
could probably put on there would be 205.
The 9000 I believe has a 15 x 6 wheel, and comes with 205/55 and the widest
you can put is 215.
Of course, later years have 16" (drool)
Actually, referencing NINES, the SAAB club newsletter, on page 26, issue
no 218, Dean Dirian of Griffin Motorsports (Mt Gretna, PA) gives a
breakdown:
rim width max tire section
5" 195
5.5" 205
6" 215
6.5" 225

anything would be useful. I've been running a set of painted-gray metal rims with snow tires for the winter. but I have a balance/vibration problem that needs some work for traveling above 75MPH ;-), and it is unpleasantly noticeable somewhat before that, and new(good) rims and a balance job should help clear it up.
