THe speakers have grills on them which protect them from being hit with someone's foot. Since speakers are very rarely made of paper any more, coming in contact with h20 isn't a concern, at least for me.
In regards to foot space, the pass side probably loses 1-2 inches of width. Since it takes the place of the ECU, it's not noticeable. On the drivers side, I still have plenty of room for my size 11 foot to rest on the dead petal. I STRESSED that with the installer that I needed foot room & he gave me more then enough room.
I am actually going to have kicks done on the 88 SPG in the next week. Both car's will have a single component set up front & since I might attempt to do a theatre in the 88 SPG, I might need to add rears but with a kick panel design, its simply not needed for music :o)
