They shouldn't have stripped unless some goober stripped them--which appears to be the case since they didn't come with sheet metal screws!!!
In which case you're screwed unless:
1. Get a new bracket. It will be tapped for a machine thread. Get the correct machine thread metric screws. One note here...ensure the new bolts are NOT too long...on my 87 900T the turn signal lever kept hanging up on right hand turns, and then it wouldn't hold for right hand turns (typical worn out signal lever cam but I digress) and when I installed a new signal switch, I discovered a wear mark on the turn signal stalk due to a too-long bolt which I then sliced 2mm off with a tiny cutoff wheel (thank you and a plug for Dremel Moto-Tool or even a Zip-type rotary tool).
2. Install correct size helicoils in the bracket. I don't know if this can be done if the sheet metal screws are stripped; probably not.
3. Use a bigger sheet metal screw!
