If it's like the one on my '85 900, there should also be a rubber washer/grommet thing. Go buy a new grommet, smear silicone sealant on it, push everything together the way it should be, and then take two long zip ties and wrap them around the intake manifold and on top of the brass elbow. It might sound jury-rigged, but it has worked great for me, and I know for sure it won't ever pop out under boost, nor will I ever have a vacuum leak.
