Maybe someone's got a better way, but here's what I do:
The Prestone kit's avail anywhere for ~$5. It has a T-fitting (that and the hose clamps are the only contents from it you want) that allows you to splice in a garden hose. To the T-fitting, I added (via a piece of old garden hose as a link) a U-bend made of 1" plumbing pipe (two 90 degree elbows and three 2" straight section; couple bucks).
Drain rad at lower spigot or just undo lower rad hose. Close spigot. Unclamp the in/out heater hoses at the firewall and connect them together via the T-fitting/U-bend apparatus (supposedly the heater valve doesn't take well to being flushed according to some, so I just bypass it - it's scarcely got a quart of fluid in it anyway). Attach garden hose. Remove T-stat and reclose housing (doesn't have to seal perfectly). Remove top rad hose. Turn on garden hose - you should have water traveling through the block, then perkelating UP through the rad and out the top hose outlet. Also, water exiting from T-stat hose.
Refill w/ water + Prestone Super flush. Run it the 6-8hrs or whatever it says. Repeat above flushing. Fill with new coolant. This whole process is much easier than this lengthy post suggests. I'd also like to know just how "clean" you have to get it before switching from "green" to "orange".
