A little bit of play in the turbo turbine shaft is ok, if it is a lot or an obvious large amount, or the compressor vains are making contact, then I would say that is bad. As for the engine, hard to say without looking at it. Usualy when there is valve to piston contact it is only on one or two cylinders. You may also be seeing the signs from large amounts of detonation.
