Buy a Bentley manual and follow it like a cookbook recipe. If you have to pull an engine, the SAAB is easier than anything short of a VW (old) Beetle. You don't even have to know anything about engines. Just follow the directions.
Use the engine hoist to stick the engine/transmission combo onto the back of a pickup for the trip to your local SAAB dealer or independent SAAB mechanic. They'll take your engine/tranny, put it up on a 55-gallon drum, remove and reinstall your ring and pinion assembly with a new bearing properly.
You'll take the motor/tranny home and put it back in the car at savings of at least a thousand dollars. Amazing how mechanical you can get if you know you can save a thousand.
If you decide to sell it, sell it to a SAABista with tools.
Good luck.
