Changing the fluid will stir up sediment stuck here & there(bits of metal & such).
Using a different fluid (S-Y-N-T-H-E-T-I-C)(different type F, etc.) can cause leaking. Synthetics are very slippery & can start to weep out of the seals if they aren't 100%. (At 120k with original fluid they are not 100%)
Use the same fluid that was in there. It's viscosity & ingredients will match what your seals are used to. How to know what's in there? It's the original stuff - check your owners manual or Saab source.
You are going to stir up sediment. I would consider the first & maybe the second fluid change a "rinse". Get the junk out of there, do another fluid change in 500 or 1,000 miles (or 2ish months). Fluid is cheap, a transmition will be about 2,000$ installed. Do the second fluid change & see what it looks like coming out. If it's a dirty mess, do another one in another 2 months or so.
On another note, when's the last time you had the fluid in your steering rack changed? Never? Change that too & have a filter added to the return line.
Fluid & filters are cheap. Parts are not!
That's my $.02. Not a mechanic but I've learned something over the years & think I've made pretty good sense of it. Best of luck.
