A test Light is a device that looks like a ice pick with a long wire that exits the rear section. The Idea here is to attach the connector at the end of the wire to any good ground "Metal on motor or body" This way you can touch a electrical connection with the pick end and if the terminal has power .... the light in the handle part will light up.
In your case, you would go to the fuel pump and probe the + terminal on the pump while someone tries to start the motor. If the light lights up and the pump dont pump ....Its a bad fuel pump. If no power that we go to the next test.
Another way to test is loosen the fuel line connection at the fuel pressure regulator and have someone BUMP the starter. Fuel should SPRAY out of the connection. That would indicate the pump is working. Carefull here as its a fire hazard.
You might try to unplug the Air Mass Meter and see if it will start. If so ....the Air Mass Meter has failed.
