Thats a good test, sounds like the fuel system is ok. I assume you tested for spark? Try this next: plug the lines back in to the the fuel distributor and pull the injectors from the intake manifold. Put them in a glass jar and perform the same test while observing the spray pattern from the injectors. Should be a fine conical mist. That will tell you if you have gummed up or clogged injectors/lines. How old is the fuel filter?
Aside from that there may be unmetered air entering the intake and fouling the mixture through a crack or split somewhere in the intake system. Very common in Saabs so check all vacuum lines and fittings very carefully.
I also highly recommend you buy a Bentley repair manual (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0837603137/ref=as_li_tf_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=9325&creativeASIN=0837603137&linkCode=as2&tag=thesaabnetwork), simply the best documentation on the 900 available, amazon.com has 'em. Also check out the link below from Townsend Imports. Several good articles on troubleshooting no-starts in the 900 as well as some documents on the CIS fuel system. Good luck.
