If you use the regular oil just be sure you change it on time, every time. The turbo generates very high temps that are rough on regular oil causing it to break down faster. I like the extra insurance of synthetic oil. My uncle swears it's a waste of money and has the proof. He has run at least 2 different saabs over 200k with castrol regular with no turbo problems. But he does change it every 3k like clockwork.
