Check your wiring. Since you've an '85, you may have a failing wiring harness going to the starter - such was the case on my '85 900T a couple years back. It may also be a simple bad ground or battery lead on the starter solenoid, or a bad solenoid. What you'll need to do is disconnect the starter solenoid lead (should be a yellow wire, IIRC) and have someone try to start the car. Verify you're getting a full +12v at that wire; if you're not, you've got bad wiring or a bad battery. If you do, it's probably a bad solenoid.
