I have a 1989 900S. I recently unscrewed my "Saab" american style license plate so I could measure dimensions for my new "JAS 37 VIG" (tell me if you know what it means, ha) european style license plate that is on it's way in the mail. After I unscrewed the two screws it was held it by and got the measurements I needed. I tried to screw it back in... there is nothing in those holes at all. There doesnt look like there ever was any threads to hold a plate in at all. I really don't know how the plate was being held in there in the first place. I know I didn't strip any threads, because there couldnt have been any. There is just a small hole, with nothing surrounding where a screw would go. It's pretty weird. Can you help me out at all? I'd really appreciate it, so I didn't waste $30 on this new license plate.
