I did not do this, but here is what I know. Replace dryer, and o-rings. You will need to install the new connectors on the lines from the compressor. They are the quick connect connectors for the R-134a. This makes sure you do no cross contiminate (sp) with R-12. You will need to drian the current system, then flush it with a flush kit. Pep, and Wal-Mart, should have them. Then you need to vacuum the system, and fill with R-134a oil, and then freon. You need less freon with 134a than you did with 12. Some people have said that the hoses from the compressor need to be replaced also. I have a friend that does A/C for home and business, and worked in his dads auto garage for years. MY A/C was not working, low on freon. He vacuumed the system and filled it with 134a. I drove to Pep boys, bought the adapter and fill hose. I added the oil, and the system has been working for two months.
