Which dimension must be adjusted to... Posted by IrieTom [Email] ![]() ![]() ![]() In Reply to: Alignment time :o), GM, Thu, 19 Apr 2001 03:11:34 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
compensate for lowering springs? I'm getting all of my suspension bushings renewed, along with new ball joints and tie rod ends. Obviously, I want to get a good alignment before mounting new tires.
I've got Jamex sportsprings (1.75" drop) and Koni adjustable shocks on my '86 SPG. I'd prefer to maximize high-speed roadholding and stability (highway on-ramps and curvy roads, as opposed to lower-speed tight-radius autocross-type handling)
Can I just look up the regular alignment setup in Bentley, and double the differences between that and the "SPG" (0.75" drop) alignment stats? Or would that overcompensate?
There's a tire place here in Kingston, NY where the local SAAB dealer sends all of their alignment jobs, so I know that they'll do a competant job. Should I trust them to know what to do with a lowered suspension?
All advice is welcome and appreciated.
Thanks,
-Tom S.
