Got my headgasket & alt. bushing job 90% done. Thank you Townsend Imports. Great written procedure. Tom's alt. bushings look/feel great.
Random toughts:
1. I think I like the fan belts near the bumper. I spent as much time replacing the alt. bushings and belts as I did the head gasket.
2. Only broke two exhaust studs. That hurt.
3. Stripped the thru bolt threads on the head for the t-stat. Tough to find an M8 thread repair kit, ended up using longer bolt and nut.
4. The suggested alignment pin for the head install is really a nice hint.
5. Next time I WILL bag&label all the hardware
And the number one observation.....
6. Don't leave your tool boxes out side by the car overnight. Especially if you like to leave your dist, AMM, and all the remaining hardware in the bottom of one tool box.
In my back yard they grew legs and walked away. Bastards.....I need new tools like the next guy, and I have 2 extra AMMs, the painful parts is the lost hardware. Where am I going to get the M10 stud, reduced washer, and lock washer for the turbo/exh.manifold interface?
