because of the head removal, ALL of the accessory brackets come off. Which means your taking all the belts off anyway. I mean if I had to do anyone seperately the jobs would take 3X as long. The alt. bushings are a real charm. The head gasket is the biggy. Between Bentley and Townsend Imports anyone can do the headgasket. The tough part will (if you chose) to get someone who can rebuild your head. Otherwise, you buy a rebuilt one from a sponsor. I prefer, when I can, to be able to touch someone when I have a problem with a repair or a part/component.
recent jobs/comparison
head gasket 8 of 10
change alt bushings 6 of 10
replace dash 5 of 10
change belts 4 of 10
repaint bumpers(rattle cans) 3 of 10
clean throttle body 2 of 10
change oil 1 of 10
I would imagine that auto to 5-sp would be around 9 or 10, as would a bottom end rebuild. Anyone care to fill-in?
