Funny, I had a similar thing happen. Car went in for routine service, two starts (and ten miles) later, the SRS light came on. Brought it back and they said something similar (that the SRS sensor had been damaged - gee, by who?).
I went this route of complaining: 1 - repair manager, 2 - dealer owner, (3 - corporate). I didn't acutally get to 3 because the dealer took care of it (15 years and 5 Saabs taught our dealer to treat my family with respect :). Its a lot easier to get in contact with someone, have a legitimate discussion, and (try to) get resolution. Plus if you take it all the way to Saab USA this way, you can complain that the repair manager AND the dealer had no interest in doing the right thing.
Anyways, good luck with it, here's hoping you get something for your troubles.
