If you remember recently I went to my local "please screw me over" Saab dealer ship, my first experience at a Saab dealership. Well after consideration of what you all said here, I have contacted Saab USA about the matter. Here is a copy of what was sent...
Also, what experience has anyone had about contacting Saab USA?
_______
Hello,
I'm the proud owner of a 1991 Saab 900S. It is a 5-speed and has 108,000 miles on it.
Recently, I took it to my closest Saab Dealer which is in Vero Beach,FL about a 45 minutes drive. I had an appointment setup to have the SRS light reset. I stated that I thought the cause was that I had pulled fuse #7 accidently. I was quoted $60 on the phone. After resetting the computer and turning the car back on, the light began to blink again! They read the code and then found that the driver's side SRS sensor had too much resistance and needed to be cleaned. Well, there is where it went wrong. After looking for over 45 minutes, they could not locate their tamperproof TORX screwdrivers, to remove the sensor. They stated that one of their mechanics that usually do the work on the C900's is gone on vacation, and he is the one who knows where the screwdrivers are. The dealer then proceeded to charge me $30 for the visit, and would charge me the remaining $30 upon the second visit.
Rather than showing my anger, knowing that it would probably not do much. That is the primary reason I am contacting you. First, I think that the dealer SHOULD have a least one EXTRA set of screwdrivers, or at least know where they are located!! Especially since I told them beforehand that the SRS system needed service. Second, I felt VERY unsure about paying $30 for the work that they performed, seeing that they accomplished NOTHING!
Now on May22nd, at 10:30am I must drive back down there from Melboure, where I live, and deal with these guys again.
This was my first experience with a Saab dealer, and I sure hope it will be the second to last!! After reviewing your extensive warrenty information you offer to new car buyers, I'm not convinced that, even if I purchased a new Saab later in the future, which is VERY possible, that I would have my dealer service it! You never know when they may have forgotten where the 13mm socket wrench is to change the oil!!
Please contact me, if needed, about further questions regarding my experience.
Sincerely,
Justin Duthie

As you can tell, I am quite upset. At first I was just accepting that they screwed up, but then got fed, up with my thoughts and comments of others I decided to take action!
