Try taking the car to a saab specialist to get a professional once over of the car. They will be abl to tell you exactly what condition the car is in & it will be the best $50-100 you would spend :o)

157K from the turbo at least to me doesn't state the turbo was neglected since you don't know why it was replaced. I changed the turbo in my 87 SPG at 150K miles as preventative maintenance not because the turbo was blowing smoke. It was just old & not H20 cooled :o)

Definantly pay close attention to the trans at highway speeds. Any groaning noise will mean the pinion is on it's last leg & that can be & is quite expensive. Then again, if it is making noises you should be able to get the car cheaper & try adding redline MTL to it & that might solve the problems. I had a trans rebuilt under warantee on my 87 & it made all kinds of pinion noises. I added Redline & 30K miles later I can't hear a thing & it works fine :o)

DEFINANTLY take it to a saab specialist!!!!!!!!!!!1
