I'm facing the same HB replacement issue on my 92 900S, 159K. HB problems are usually a loud chirping noise, mine after belts were tightened. I have a quote from an indie shop in Westchester County, NY at $350 all in, including $180 part. First time I'm using these guys so I'll let you know how it goes. If not done already,you should also do the oil pump and crank shaft seals as you/shop will be in there already. I had those done last year at $600, at my old shop. Alt bushings require removal of A/C compressor (set aside, not opening the hoses/system) , so its a good time to do this. If $350 - $400 is good for the HB, figure another three -four hours of shop time and minimal parts prices for seals and bushings. Also, if your motor mounts are going, now is the time to do those as the compressor has to be moved to do the drivers side. you need to find an honest shop that does not stack the hours for the redundent processes on these related remove/replace issues.
