1: The odometer's plastic gears have probably worn away too much, so you can either put in a new speedo or have yours sent someplace for repair. Neither is ideal, but thems your options...
2: The turn signal is a big fat pita. I did mine and you have to rip a whole bunch of stop out to get to the wiring you'll need to access. If you don't care about cruise control, then it'll be pretty easy, but if you want your cruise to work, it's a bigger deal. What's going on is that in '89 they used a different stalk (looks the same, but it doesn't require the big 'ole cruise control relay) and the new replacement stalks are the same way. However, your stalk is still using the cruise control relay and so you'll have to bypass it. Well, it's only accessible if you take out the knee bolster (which is no fun at all). It'll cost you $85-100 for the new turn signal lever (part only).
3: Axels? sorry can't help, but I would suggest calling Eric at Viking Auto in Damascus MD. Where are you?
4: See response to 3.
Good luck fellow Marylander.
-Michael
