My 1990 SPG can get about 375 miles per tank before I get paranoid enough to fill it up again. By the time I'm around 340 I'm flirting with the bottom red zone on the gauge. Then again, I do a fair amount of city driving AND highway driving, and I do push my car a bit.
As for caveats for turbo driving, the only one I can think of is make sure you let the car idle for about 20-30 seconds after each hard driving session. This gives the turbocharger a chance to spin down to idle speed. It can spin up to 120,000 RPMs (no joke) and the only way the turbine is kept cool is a steady stream of oil. When you shut the engine off, the oil pump goes off too, and a still spinning turbocharger can cook the oil standing in the shaft housing. This will leave deposits in the housing and foul the turbocharger. Other than that, all your standard warnings, cautions and notes apply.
