Difficulty getting into gear, particularly grinding going into reverse indicates that either the clutch isn't disengaging completely or that you have a bad clutch shaft bearing (or both).
Failure to disengage fully can be caused by air in the system, elongated hole in the clutch pedal where it attaches to the master cylinder, a weak hydraulic hose, or a bad master or slave cylinder.
From what you describe, it's entirely possible that the master cylinder isn't working properly or you've still got a little air in the system. When you pressure bleed, make sure that the container into which the waste fluid is pumped is above the level of the bleed valve. That helps prevent air from siphoning into the system around the threads of the bleed nipple.
Like TS says, a bad slave usually leaks, but I don't suppose it has to.
If the hose is weak and bulging a bit, that could produce the symptom you describe. I don't imagine it would last long before bursting, however.
A bad clutch shaft bearing cause the clutch shaft to continue to rotate (just like the clutch was engaged) and will cause grinding when going into reverse, difficulty shifting into other gears and extra wear on the synchros. It's a $5 part, but requires pulling the clutch to replace it.
So, consider proceeding as follows: re-inspect the linkage in the clutch pedal, check for a bad hose, rebleed the system, remove/inspect/replace the master cylinder (even new ones aren't always good), and if it is still not OK, replace the slave/clutch/clutch shaft bearing. This goes from simple/cheap to more involved/expensive.
