I have had my '86 900 non-turbo 16V, 2-door w/ trunk for 1 year and 10k miles.Wanting to invest more time than cash into the car, I went to a fabric store and bought 2 yards of black vinyl ($18). I pulled the dash and using contact adhesive made for laminating counter tops (Home Depot, etc.), cut and glued the vinyl on. Took two tries because 1st time I used 77 spray adhesive; wasn't strong enough.Just make sure old dash is clean and saturate the backing on the vinyl, let get almost dry and join it together. Mine has not let go around the glove-box, etc. through one summer and winter.Cut darts in to fit around the curves, and stitch with black thread and "baseball" stiches.End result is cheap, handsome and custom!!
