To your credit, you didn't sell. To his credit, he asked. For years I did regular yard and garage sales with a friend (the location was too fantastic). Half the fun as a buyer is getting something for way less than the asking price. Half the fun as a seller is getting exactly what you want for it. Yes, I realize we're not talking about used tennis equipment with your car, but the formula works there too. He's thinking maybe you don't really need the money, or perhaps his charm and good looks are worth half off. In the end, your standards held firm. And so it goes. Next prospective customer please...
