Heh... shoulda posted here first - cleaning these things is my specialty. I use a Dremel with a polishing wheel (light metal bristles) to clean the contacts - when I am done, they are shiny! I suggest applying a small amount of anti-oxidation goop in there. Not only will it prevent oxidation, but also keeps arcing down and serves as a lubricant for the rocker switch itself.
Taking them apart should not be too difficult - insert a small screwdriver in one side, rock the assembly "away," then repeat on the other side. The top half should separate from the bottom. When reassembling, set the bottom half on a flat surface (you must balance it on the plastic guide posts) then push the top half down smoothly and firmly.
I just finished doing this on my 9000. If you think you've got it bad, try four window switches, a fan control switch, and the sunroof switch. That's a lot of switches. But the end product is worth it - positive feel from the switch and four windows that move at the same speed again! :)
