ARI, another kind soul herein posted that he had taken a junkyard cap, drilled it for a schrader valve assembly, bulkhead style, and then used a hand type bicycle pump to create the pressure in the reservoir to facilitate bleeding. Pretty slick!
In a related need, my new-to-me 87T has a seriously low clutch pedal. Previous owner bought a new line to go from the clutch cylinder to the slave cylinder, but did not install. The flex line which attaches to the slave has a baby hose clamp on it, suggesting previous trouble. Also the mastercylinder & resrvr. have been replaced as well. Unfortunately the prior mechanic was unavailable (divorce) so I will have to figure it out.
Many have posted here about the pin problem in the pedal assy., and this being common cause for low pedal engagement via. lost motion. Mine looks tight, and it appears the culprit is either air in line, worn out clutch cylinder, or problem at the slave. I am leaning towards the replace the line & rebuild the clutch cyl. angle, then bleed it out and see what happens. Rumoured to have a clutch replacement in recent years also.
Your thoughts?
