I didn't loose much coolant at all, but if your going to change yours anyway make a choir out of it and do it all in one weekend. My only advise check your bolts and make sure you have all the tools necessary, I thought I was ready to do the job but when I picked up my new alternator the parts guy started asking questions about what tools I had and ended up lending me hex head bits( I believe it was 6mm), wooble extension, and extra long extesion bar. I'm not sure If I'm calling the tool by its right name but the hex head bit I'm refering to is like the star bits but only a hex If the bolts holding your bracket is the same as mine you will not get the alternator out without that tool. Another suggestion when you put everything back together install the long main bolt in the opposite direction so that you can remove the alternator without removing the bracket, you just have to remove the oil filter. My rack is still leaking. I just solved my final oil leak so I'm just leaking p/s fluid. To tell you the truth I don't know what to do about the rack. I have a used one my dad got through a friend, but I'm not sure I wan't to do all that work only to have it leak also (dad's friend says it doesn't leak). I tried to track down a manual rack in europe but that didn't pan out either. So for now I'll continue adding fluid, hopefully I'll get inspired soon and either bite the bullet and get a rebuilt rack, or I'm considering taking apart my used one rebuilding it (if I can get a kit) and installing that one, maybe even rebuild it to a manual. How about you?
Mike
