Your experience is interesting. I also have an '88 900T with 115k,
and it is solid as a rock. Amazing engineering and design, and puts
many 2000 model American cars to shame (actually the majority of them).
My brother recently got rid of his Jeep Wrangler, and traded it for
a Volkswagen Corrado G60. I'm not sure if yet if the VW will prove
reliable (it is beautiful, and very fast though). The Jeep was a
DISASTER. It was the first American car a member of my family owned.
It was nice for a truck.. and interesting that it actually had some
character. But for reliability.. this thing could of put my poor
brother in the poor house if he didn't sell it. Everything breaking
over and over again.. engine, transmission, electrical. I'd never
own one after I saw that circus.
I had another friend who wanted a Grand Cherokee and was just put
off by the super primitive design of the interior. It is a shame
though, because I really thought that Jeep was one of the coolest
American brands. Maybe there will be some hope with the Liberty...
take care,
Ryan
