Ventilated discs on a 900 Silver Arrow

I have a 900 Silver Arrow, that is a '86 8 valve turbo 2-door sedan in a limited edition silver paint with custom striping, wooden steering wheel and shiftknob, special interior cloth, etc. It is number 140 of only 150 (maybe 250) made.
I bought it only a week ago, from a cardealer who thought that the ignition switch was broken, because he couldn't get the key out! He didn't know Saab's should always be in reverse, so the car only cost me $1000,-. Since I do not have experience with 900's (only 99 and 96's) I hope someone can help me with some minor problems:
Only problems at the moment are:
- Front brakes; they heat up very easily and since the '86 turbo 16 valve is using ventilated discs, maybe it is possible for me to install those discs, because the brakecalipers are the same, or aren't they??? I think with the ventilated discs I only should use less thicker brake pads. Is this correct???
- When I floor the gaspedal, the overboost safety features, actuate the wastegate very abruptely and also restrain the fuelflow. So when I want to pull away quickly, my car bonks and bumps like a rodeo horse!!! Is this normal or should I adjust something(s)???
Thanks!
Vince
