i have an 87 900T, Malachite Green. i have been fighting with my little lady for about 4 days straight. I had to spring for the crank pulley..$240 with new belts, oil pump seal, crank seal. she used to leak the precious $4 a quart Mobil 1 about 1 quart every 1500 miles. i have had no oil leak and no loud squealing since. Ahhhhhh....but then recently my compressor bearing was going out on the a/c. i could not afford to pay for this. so i changed the bearing on the pulley.a very tedious, but doable in a day for about $30 for bearing part number AC2 from Napa. if they have a machine shop you can even have them press out the old bearing and press in the new one for about $15-$20. you're into some time grease and sweat, but it's better to be cool and had to fuss and fight for four days than to go without and spend $300 for a new compressor. That's without someone else putting it in. i would have had to get the freon removed and then returned to the system, requiring a shop. i did this with the compressor in the car, and no loss of freon.a little loss of hair and a pile of fime. email me at allenone973@yahoo.com and i'll tell you how idid it, as well as the front motor mount. crank pulley ya leave to the pros, i did and am glad to have done it. my starter cylenoid is acting up. the motor mount in front just was replaced...VERY easy to do..part was $45 from http://www.sobstory.com. i am poor, but i love this car. i had two previous 900's both automatic non turbo 4 doors. i loved them, but the trannys died. i will never own another auto. my 5 speed turbo 2 door flat out flies!! and with the apg suspension handles better than almost anybody out there. we are lucky to be able to drive one of the best cars anyone could buy. when that turbo hits mid-red at about 3800 RPM in third gear...oh yeah. that's what i'm talkin about. probably will have to replace original turbo, as i have turned the apc up. mid red and up is where the love is.. learn how to do some stuff on your own1! $40 for the bentley manual, $$40 fora decent set of tools and several metric wrenches. make sure you buy metric star bits. show her the love and she'll blow everyone else away!!!
