Hall sensor connector question - dangly and broken...

I'm new to the turbo. Hall sensor connector is the black plastic thing on the side of the distributor, correct. It has a surface which curves to the dist. body on one side and a plug/wire harness on the other. The plastic fitting to the dist. is broken and hanging and I can see the 3 wires disappear into the guts of the distributor. I read the search results, but am a bit confused.
1. Can this part be replaced w/o yanking the distributor?
2. Does it mean rebuilding the hall sensor - getting max 2/3 yellow boost, so not perfectly healthy...
3. Can it cause the crankcase to be pressurizing? When I got the car it had no vac line or check valve off the valve cover. Since replacing those it still leaks out the distrubutor and fouls the cap/rotor.
Thanks again folks.
