Most U-pull-its want about $40 for a turbo, $20 for the exhaust manifold and $10 for the intercooler. You should be able to get them to throw in the extraneous stuff for free or at least cheap. Some give a 30 day guarantee, if so be sure you do the conversion within the warranty period. You should be able to do this in a day, if you have everything that you need, but plan for two days.

Be sure you check the turbo well, especially if they want much money for it. Make sure it spins freely, there will usually be some play, just make sure there appears to be no possibility that the compressor wheel will make contact with the housing. Look for coking at the oil feed inlet, don't buy one that looks coked up. Look for oil at the turbine exit, if there is oil here, you should pass on it. There will probably be some oil at the compressor inlet, this is usually normal, it gets sucked in from the PCV hose.

It would be good if you were to find one with a good exhaust system, at least try to get the header pipe and cat. You also need the oil feed and return plumbing, you'll have to do much serious cleaning on the feed line, unless you can get a new one. If the turbo you get is watercooled, you'll also need the plumbing for it.

If you run without an intercooler, get the plumbing from the AMM to the compressor inlet, the pcv hose and valve cover nipple with the small vacuum hose and check valve, from any 16V turbo and the plumbing from the compressor outlet to the throttle body from an 8V turbo. I think it is easier to just get everything that you need from a 16V turbo and go ahead and plumb up the intercooler.

Let us know if you decide to go through with it, I'm sure that you will be very pleased with the conversion.
