hard braking & instability question...

i had to stomp on the brakes really hard for the first time in my newtome SPG and got an unexpected suprise. The car dove off to the left, but then regained control. Since the right front dipped down and car swerved left I figure the right front caliper is lazy. This is not evident on normal braking (aside from some minor rotor warpage), but only on "oh shit" type stops. Does a sticky/lazy caliper seem like the right path? Anyone had this experience? Are the calipers on the SPG same as the base model (potential temporary victim)?
Thanks
