JD,

I'm really sorry to hear that an simple oil change has turned into a disaster. The Heli-coil should work fine and that will get you running again. Not that it helps your pain but my car also weeps oil from the cooler lines, the front main, and somewhere else. I don't know how sever the leaks are but you might consider washing the bottom part of the engine and monitoring the leaks. I'll bet that some of the oil you're seeing is from the transmission plug that was loose.

Not that this info helps either, but here are the tidbits of info that I've been withholding for the wiring info.
1) Try Honda MTF transmission fluid. In my car I've noticed a SIGNIFICANT
improvement in the shifting over both Redline MTL and Mobil 1 10W-30. I didn't flush I just replaced the Redline with the Honda and WOW.

2) Pull the aluminum tube going from the turbo to the throttle plate and
examine the two ends. On my car Saab did a poor job grinding off the extra casting flashing and subsequently a permanent vacuum leak. I took a dremel tool with a drum sander and cleaned up both ends. This 15min. repair fixed a hot running problem that has plagued me since I got the car. It idles and runs much better after the car has been driven hard. I'm sure this leak is haunting others.

3) You might want to replace the electrical connectors going to the thermostat switch on the thermostat housing. Mine connectors were a little corroded and replacing them helped the warm start problem I was having

Do you think there might be a conservation principal at work here? You're running into problems and I'm getting lucking solving them?

Good luck man...
Todd
