I just picked up my machined head from the shop. $30 for a milling, doesnt seem like I paid too much. Here are a few questions I have though.
1. The #1 cylinder had an oil leak from the gasket, so now the valves are caked in hard carbon deposits. I couldn't pick any of it off with my fingernails, its baked on there I guess. Can I use my dremel on this, or oven cleaner or something?
2. Can I take the valves out somehow to clean any carbon deposits off the top of the valves? I mean, the part of the valve that is inside there and you cant see until its extended. Perhaps I could push the spring down with a rubber hammer, gently, and expose the back side of the valve and them grind/dust it off?
3. I accidently pulled the tensioner plunger out a few more clicks, is there a way to push that back in? Doh.
4. Should I oil the cylinder walls before I push the head back on? And should I pour oil onto the cams and everything when I install it?
Thanks for the help. Can't wait to get this thing rolling again! Painting it black once I get the head on, its prepped and everything.
Rob
