I bolted the head back on last night (fixing head gasket) and I am pretty sure I got the gears and cams lined up correctly, but I'm not absolutely sure that the I have the cams turned to exactly the correct position. I made a drawing and everything of where exactly they were, but...

Just how off do the cams have to be before there are problems?

I mean, do the valves have to close and the EXACTLY correct instant? Could having the cams off by one link in the chain cause problems? Ive already bolted the cams down, so if there are any valves to be bent, they're bent already :) I think I did it correctly, but they may be off by about 15 degrees (or 3 or 4 chain links).

Thanks for any tips you can give me.
