Tow with a dolly or tow-bar? Posted by JustinHiFi [Email] ![]() ![]() |
I am going to move up to Marietta Ohio on the 20th for school. I currently live in Melbourne Florida. It's almost 1000 miles to Ohio. My question is,
Do I need a dolly from U-Haul ($222 for 5 days) or will a tow bar be ok?
I've got a manual tranny and was thinking of pulling the battery connections and leaving it out of gear if I can use a bar. Also will the odometer count the miles if the wheels are turning but the ignition is off?
We will be towing it up there with my dad's '95 Chevy Crew Cab Dually (6.5L Turbo Diesel). I perfer to have a dolly but since he will be paying for it he has the final say. He is leaning toward the cheaper tow-bar.
We need some input on this ongoing debate. Thanks all...
