I just painted my '85 Turbo over a couple of weekends with a synthetic sheepskin roller and a couple of litres of synthetic enamel. I stripped the doors and painted them off the car, took the badges and side trims off, taped the window seals and rolled away. Couple of coats and it was all done. I thought about black but it is really difficult to do so I kept as near to the metallic corallian red as I could in a solid colour-can't roll metallics/pearls etc.

In a couple of weekends I may get round to machine polishing the finish. It has a good shine and 'orange peel' texture, but apart from that I now have an even thickness of paint on the car with a consistent shine, all for £30.

No runs, no sags, no uneven finish. If you have the equipment and skill then spraying gives the best finish, but for everyone else I would really suggest trying a roller....
