turn on the a/c and feel the pipes at the back of the compressor. one(usually towards the center of the engine or the top one) should be ice cold. this means that your compressor is working correctly. the door problem is one of 2 things. have someone inside the car actuate the recirc button and watch the door. it either attempts to work and the rivets that are holding it in place have broken or it fails to work at all. if it fails to work at all it is usually a vacuum problem. pull off the hose and see if there is vacuum present. no vacuum present means just that. but because the vents are acting up it is probably the one way valve in the vacuum has failed. do they just not work at all or do they work on and off?
