Another long trip, another problem with the car...

Man, this is really getting annoying...
1st trip to NY state this summer resulted in a broken valve spring...
After 3 weeks, I got the car running great again, just in time for another trip to NY state.
This weekend I went back and this time the blinkers stopped working completly.
Both problems happened on the way BACK to Massachusetts.
I really don't understand why my car is doing this. This last trip involved a ride through northern NY that involved twisty roads, high-speed straights, and lots of passing! Everything a car loves to do. And now it punishes me by turning off the blinkers! At least the head gasket held up!
However, both times I made it home.
So what's my car trying to tell me...
Don't take me on long trips because no matter how much money you put into me I'm gonna find something to break!
