Exactly what happens at higher RPM - does the throttle response go away, or does the engine suddenly start to sutter and miss? Does it happen at high boost, or just high RPM?
If the engine stutters and misses, like it's being held back, and it does this at High Boost - well into the yellow, then check your spark plugs. Very often this is due to the plug gap being too big. Check the gap against the specification on the decal in the engine compartment. Also, if the distributor cap/rotor are old, or the plug wires are old, that can do it. It's harder to make a spark jump at high boost (harder to create a plasma in denser air), so a big gap, or any other weakness in the ignition system will show up as a hesitation/sutter at high boost.
Good luck
