oud have waited for your reply, but I didn't. I figured, I drilled out the plug, I'm not keeping the cylinder, I'll drill out the little catch button too. That will make it easy to pull out. WRONG! I'm an idiot!!! The drill bit broke off IN THE CYLINDER! Only about 1/2" of hardened steel, but plenty enough to keep the cylinder in there tight. Plus, now the cylinder won't turn. I'm an idiot!
OK, enough beating myself up. Am I going to have to remove the entire shifter/ignition assembly and drive the cylinder out from the bottom? Can I use a punch or drift to drive the piece of drill bit all the way into the cylinder without screwing something else up?
This is far and away the most embarrassing thing that's happened to me with DIY repairs. My wife now knows she married an idiot.
