After sitting in a New Jersey Turnpike traffic jam trying to get to a funeral, my wife and I decided to look to the future instead of the past and exit at 13A instead to go to IKEA to re-do our kitchen. I had my '94 9000CS. We bought three "Varde"s (each in two six foot boxes), an "Expedite" shelf structure, and miscellaneous other cabinets. We also had one of our children with us. I folded 60% of the rear seat and slid in six of the boxes, then put the rest on the Thule roof rack. We had enough to completely redo the kitchen (and the funeral was probably over anyway by the time we walked into IKEA ;-)

A pretty good crowd gathered... mostly SUV drivers who were having trouble fitting anything into their Stupid User Vehicles. They couldn't believe how much the 9000 swallowed. We made it home without any problem, the child securely and safely sitting in the 40% side of the rear seat.
