Take a cell phone and before you leave do some searches for Saab Dealers (Independents if possible) telephone numbers so you have a fall-back if the on-board spares (and the tools to install them) don't solve your problem. Have a tow rope available for short hauls to the nearest mechanic. We are going from Ottawa to St. Louis Mo via Thunder Bay, Duluth and Madison in October and I put my trust in our 1987 Convertible - the only extra I want is lots of sun. Have fun in Canada, your US$ goes 50% further here. The post about Hwy 401 between Windsor (Detroit) east is valid, there is a humongous (sp?) amount of 18 wheeler traffic and they sit on your bumper in every lane! Radar is quite common there and on some secondary roads, if you pass a 'Cop Shop' and there are no black & whites in the yard do close to the limit for a while. As well, at least here in the Ottawa area, there are a number of 'ghost' cars, Monte Carlos, Caprices, etc that have tinted windows so you cannot see all the interior equipment (they even have single multi-purpose antennas) until it is too late - be warned!
