I used to own a body shop on the north coast of Ohio for 4 years. We did cheap jobs for cheap people. Back 10 years ago we charged up to $1500 for a base coat/clear coat w/ sanding and buffing. I know the cost of materials has skyrocketed in the last couple of years so don't be surprised if you get quotes over 2 grand. Some show jobs cost between 5 & 10 grand. Yes there are alot of good painters out there. I suggest you get references and follow up to see what kind of jobs your painter has put out.
