On my holiday in France, during some heavy raining, the left wiper of my '84 900 T 8V broke down. I heard parts falling, hitting the firewall. I stopped and looked under the hood. The left "wheel" of the wiper installation has fallen off. We waited until the wheater got better and then found a local Saab Dealer. They wanted to sell me the bar with the two "wheels" for around $200,= (still without motor !). Negative. So I went to a car shop and bought a bottle of Rain-X. This stuff WORKS. We drove back to The Netherlands in heavy raining, and the road was still very visible. Raindrops just go up ! I got home and got the complete armature (with motor) + an original manual + a dashboardswitch from a local wreckyard for just $15. After 30 mins of work it worked again... Must say Rain-X saved my holiday ! Keep this stuff in mind when your wipers stop !
