Yup.... there are two ways to do this. You can fit the CIS injection onto the 16v engine - I've seen in person three cars finished this way, and have an article from the Saab Journal where they go over the details of it. It isn't that difficult from what I've read there, and looks simple enough from the installations I've seen.

The other way to do it is to install a full 16v harness with all the related electronics. I've got a pretty good line on this stuff and, with the exception of '85 harnesses, can usually get the wiring and ECUs pretty cheaply. Hence, I chose to go full LH 2.2 in my 5-door. Installation really was simple - I only increased the complexity by also installing Hall-Effect Ignition and full APC. You can run sans APC (wastegate only) at 8-10psi probably if you like.

Really it comes down to whether you feel more comfortable fabricating metal bits (warm up regulator mount, injector retainers, etc.) or wiring. I am more electronically competant, so I went with the LH solution. From a performance perspective, you're not talking about a lot of variation between the two, unless you plan on tuning the car. In that case, you'll have a much easier time with LH.
