Finishing "Major Service", odds-n-ends before snow time! Posted by Randy Thatcher [Email] ![]() ![]() ![]() In Reply to: p.o. broke it somehow - been waiting for it, burlyb, Tue, 18 Sep 2001 16:36:51 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Just put on Starla Exhaust from the cat back. CHEAP from eeuroparts! Had a fuel filter put on (didn't want my garage smelling like gas, so I took it to an indy).
I'll get an oil change in, maybe look at the alternator brushes (or maybe in spring)
I have to sew up some leather on both front seats, luckily my wife has her mom's old industrial sewing machine. That thing is an absolute champ. Then my wife mentioned that seats should be hand stitched to allow some give with the stitching. I guess I'll see what the factory did when I rip 'em down.
Also, find out why the passenger side seat heater isn't working. Bun warmers are critical! :) If they don't work the 9-3 will be the car of choice for the winter road trips, and I'd rather put miles on the non-lease car.
I may do all my vacuum lines in silicone. Now I'm running cheap junk from the local parts store.
Oh, any recommended snow tires? My local shop will have a Gislaved Nordfrost and steel wheels sale soon. How do these compare to Nokians, Blizzaks, etc?
Once the snow falls the audio projects start. This year I'll play with a tubed preamp with output transformer (http://www.execpc.com/~n9zes/ultrapath.html) , maybe new horn speakers (http://www.sierrabrooks.com/) Time to fire up the soldering iron!!!
